Dining Room Services Manager

11am – 7:30pm and every other weekend

Job Responsibilities 

As Dining Room Manager you are responsible for the overall service in the wood dining room.  This area will be operated within established objectives, standards, policies, and procedures.  You will assist in the maintenance of sound inter-departmental relations and the integration of the dining service department with the facility plan of operation. Manage employees the framework of Team ship and Empowerment.

Other responsibilities include but not limited to: 

  • Directly supervises all service personnel during the meal period.
  • In cooperation with the Dietitian , supervises the service in the Wood Dining Room
  • Supervises hiring, orientating, training, evaluating, and counseling of all service personnel in accordance with the personnel policies of the community.  Promotes the professional growth and development of all staff.
  • Conducts and documents weekly meetings with all service personnel including health care.
  • Attends the monthly Resident Dining Committee meeting with the other members of the management team.
  • Participates in the Team Leader program on a regularly scheduled basis.
  • Participates in the development of the department’s cycle menus.

Job Requirements 

Possesses a comprehensive knowledge of dining room service techniques, Resident relations, plate presentation, sanitation, food handling, personnel administration, special functions, healthcare operations and operation of a coffee shop.  It is expected that the employee will complete the program within two years. If not already ServSafe® certified, it is expected that the Manager become certified within one year from acceptance of this position.
